On Saturday, Kiddo #1 went away for an overnight with his Civil Air Patrol group. They made and launched model rockets and kiddo brought and flew two of his model airplanes, as well.
We went to church in the evening on Sunday after Kiddo came home, as we always like to go together as a family. I had never been to this church before and found it to be a sweet, little church with an enthusiastic congregration and a wonderful sermon to boot. It really struck me when he gave a story about a man, who had made some pretty poor choices in his life, now faced with his son possibly doing the same thing, realized that he needed to turn to God for the answers and advice. He needed God in his life. That when we turn to the world, the media and our peers instead, we will not get the correct answers and advice and will not be lead on the right path. These are the wrong influences and can jeopardize our souls. When young people have a better relationship with the world and their peers than their own parents and the Lord, the child will be lost. The Lord patiently waits for us to turn to Him. He will welcome us home with open arms and with unlimited forgiveness. We just need to ask. He is always there to give us answers, advice, love and forgiveness. What an amazing, incredible and awesome thought to begin the new week, don't you think? :-)

Congrats on your anniversary! I love seeing couples who are truly committed to traditional marriage and family! Good for you. Civil Air Patrol is an excellent thing for teenagers to be involved in. My oldest was involved in Civil Air Patrol when she was in high school. I love the rest of your post as well. I truly know what you are talking about as one of our sons (the oldest one 21 years old) put friends and worldliness ahead of God and family and has made many bad choices which have broken our hearts because we love him so much. Keep your family close and keep stay close to God! Enjoy the week ahead!
Congratulations on your anniversary. My DH and I will celebrate 16 in November. Our youngest is looking at Civil Air Patrol. We went to the air show this past weekend at Westover ARB in Chicopee, MA and he talked to cadets and a commander of the program. He is intrigued with the idea that he could learn to fly! I have heard good things about the program.
Happy Anniversary! We just celebrated year number 13 from our second marriage and November will be 22 yrs from our first marriage! Yes, we do turn our eyes the wrong way when we take them off of HIM< don't we....I needed that reminder this morning! Thank you!
