Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions: Preheat oven to 375; line muffin cups with papers. Cream butter and sugar till light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs; one at a time. Add flour mixed with baking powder and salt alternating with milk beat well; stir in vanilla.
Divide evenly among pans and bake for 18 minutes. Let the cupcakes cool in pans or transfer to cooling racks.
Then frost with vanilla frosting or any type frosting you would like.
Vanilla Frosting Ingredients
3 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup butter,softened
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 tablespoons milk
Directions: First, stir in a small bowl the powdered sugar. Then the butter next, then vanilla, then the milk. Stir well until frosting forms.
Batch makes 12 cupcakes.

Wow, the cake and icing recipes both look great! I really should move to from scratch rather than boxed cake mixes.Pls tell your dd that she has inspired me!
My son's bday is this week and since I have a boxed mix purchased already, I'll use it this time...but the next time I need a cake for an occasion, I'll try this one!

Oh Yummy-O! Time for me to break out the recipe books again. My son loves vanilla, so of course I added your daughter's recipes to my box for his birthday in Jan. However, this month is my middle daughter's birthday and she wants something "low key, not too sweet, not chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry..." Hrm... LOL she's my interesting one ;-)
