We are so very blessed to live in an area so rich in history and that these establishments offer such engaging hands-on programs for little or no cost.
There were numerous stations set up around the property. These included doing "laundry" and pumping the water necessary for the task.
There were spinning wheels going with wool from the sheep and angora from the rabbits.
There was butter to be churned and baking of cookies to be done. :-)
Kiddo #1 enjoyed making a tin lantern and everyone thought candle dipping was awesome.
I had never been to Pottsgrove Manor before, so it was a new and wonderful learning experience for me, as well. There were so many stations that we didn't even get a chance to visit, so I know now for next year to get there even earlier. :-)

I love all the fun history things you do with your kids. I wish there was a little more history out here in Arizona...lots of Native American stuff and some pioneer history, also the Western-most battle of the civil war down near Tucson, but there are so many more interesting historical things and places in the East. Enjoy your week!

This is the first I've heard of this historic site. And it's wonderful that they have a Homeschool Day, too. Thanks for sharing--I'll have to see how far away from us it would be. :-)

Lisa, I love, love field trips like this. Looks like you and the kids got to do so many amazing things. Historic places are my FAVORITE field trips!
