"You didn't do anything?"

Isn't it a shame when spending time at home with your family and enjoying the "little" things becomes "nothing?"  I read on a friend's blog that someone actually said that to her son and he had the wits about him (way to go!!) to answer that they indeed did do an awful lot this summer.

I guess using that person's criteria, we did a lot of "nothing" this week, as well.  :-)

There was reading of books, playing of computer games, checking on our caterpillars (who have formed their chrysalides!!!) and even a swim or two (or three!) in their grandparent's pool.  We enjoyed seeing the cucumber that grew larger than Mom's foot and cheering on our Phillies as they continue being the best in baseball.  All together; Making memories.  Isn't that what it's all about?

Sounds and looks like a GREAT "nothing" week! LOL It's the "little things" that REALLY matter (like my daughter making lunch or my son snacking off the garden). Thanks for stopping in my blog!

@April- I'm sure you do quite a lot, lol. But, isn't it wonderful to see and appreciate the "little" things? That is what it is all about. Too many times we miss these special times and memories either because we are too busy or because they seem so "ordinary." :-) God is so good to give us so many gifts in so many different ways, isn't He?

@Aurie- the beauty of this past week was that all of our "activities" were little things- picking and marveling over a cucumber or sitting and quietly watching caterpillars. Isn't it wonderful to marvel at the gifts God gives us? :-) So many times, people are so rushed with their "busyness" and miss some very memorable moments.

I love doing "nothing" the big things are fun too, but life is mostly made up of enjoying the little things (or figuring out how to find joy in them, even if they don't seem so joyful!).

Ha! We do a lot of 'nothing' around here, too. Nothing is also incredibly cheap!

Usually our best days are when I say yes to something that they were expecting me to say no to. Just by saying yes to walking down Main Street yesterday we ran into two old friends, made plans for the beach and a trip to the library. None of it was planned, all of it involved learning.
