*C*hocolate Cake

Welcome to the third day of the A to Z Blogging Challenge!

Back in February when we had a tornado warning, Kiddo #4 made us a really delicious *C*hocolate *C*ake.  We enjoyed it together and had an impromptu movie night, watching The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.  It was a beautiful family evening!  :-)

Here is Kiddo's recipe for this moist and delicious cake.  The recipe for the Buttercream frosting was shared yesterday!  You can find that post here.  And click here for the Apple Cake from Day 1.

2 cups sugar
1 3/4 cups flour
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 cup boiling water
1 cup milk
1/2 cup oil
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions: In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside. In another large bowl, whisk together eggs, boiling water, milk, oil and vanilla extract. Add wet mixture to dry mixture and whisk or stir until well combined. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Bake for 27-32 minutes. Check at 25 minutes just to make sure cake is not dry.

Enjoy!  We surely did!  It was SO delicious.  :-)

Coming up tomorrow- Homemade *D*onuts!
